About Us
Catlab is a Clinical Analysis Laboratory that was born from the merger of the laboratories of the Hospital Universitari Mútua de Terrassa (HUMT) and the Consorci Sanitari de Terrassa (CST). In June 2012 the laboratory of Fundació Hospital Sant Joan de Déu de Martorell (FHSJDM) was also merged with CatlabCatlab was created in 2008 as an Economic Interest Group (AIE) governed by an Administrative Council formed of members of CST, HUMT and FHSJDM, with a staff of 140 professionals working under labor agreement XHUP. Catlab is organized in 4 physically distinct laboratories; the three Hospital Laboratories (CST,HUMT and FHSJDM), which provide service 24 hours a day/365 days per year, and the Central Laboratory in Viladecavalls. The Central Laboratory of Catlab occupies 1800 m2, and is located in the building of the “Parc Logístic de Salut” (Healthcare Logistics Park) in the town of Viladecavalls. It provides services to 98 extraction centres, the assistance reference population covers part of Vallès Occidental (Terrassa, Rubi, Sant Cugat, Castellbisbal, Matadepera, Viladecavalls) and one town of Baix Llobregat (Olesa). It also includes primary care centers in the SAP Vallès Occidental and patients at the Hospital of Martorell, with a reference population of approximately 800,000 inhabitants.
Catlab has accredited according to the Standard UNE-EN ISO 15189 more than 1200 magnitudes from Biochemistry, Hematology, Immunology, Cytometry, Cytogenetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology and Emergency Laboratories and pre-analytical processes.
